Nestled between lush sugarcane fields and the majestic Indian Ocean, this hidden gem on the North Coast offers a sanctuary for avid golfers and a playground for young families seeking refuge from the busyness of the city.  Prince’s Grant Golf Estate boasts a rich history that dates back to its origins as a portion of the farm Hyde Park. Acquired by George Wilson Prince in 1856, the land holds a unique connection to her Majesty Queen Victoria. From there, the estate passed through the hands of Babu Bodasing, an industrious cane cutter from India, who established a portfolio of properties in Natal and Hyde Park. 

Today, Prince’s Grant stands as a testament to the vision and dedication of its previous owners. The estate embraces its heritage, with certain features originating from the Bodasing era. The 16th hole, affectionately named “Paddyfield,” was once a rice plantation, a reminder of the past. The small house on the beach, behind the fifteenth green, retains its original form, serving as a cherished piece of history. With the development of the estate, the focus was firmly placed on the golf course. The meticulous design by Peter Matkovich ensured that the natural environment remained intact while offering golfers a remarkable playing experience. Construction of the course commenced in 1992 and the clubhouse was opened in November 1994, with Hugh Baiocchi, our esteemed director of golf, leading the way.
