Champagne Carriages, KZN for Weddings & other Special Events… For Weddings full of Joy

Champagne Carriages has been a constant in the Midlands since 2010.  Every wedding is different, and beautiful and full of joy. How can you not love what you do if this is your business? 

Both Gail and Barbara have been involved with horses for many years as teachers, competitors and also running stable yards. We have been part of the Natal Driving Team for SA Driving Championships with our beloved Mollie who was the mainstay of our driving journey. She is now retired to our farm and enjoying being spoilt and loved, a just reward for her incredible nature and superb contribution to our little business.

We have a beautiful bespoke carriage, made especially for us here in the Midlands of Natal.  It is black, with black seats and canopy, and burgundy wheels with touches of brass.  The horses are show winners as carriage horses, so are used to the noise and hubbub and popping of champagne corks!  They came to Champagne Carriages in 2019, and are spectacular black horses, perfectly matched to one another.

Our brides show to such an advantage with their beautiful white dresses against the dark, formal background of the carriage, the driver is formally attired, back suit and top hat. The carriage is big enough for the bride and two attendants at the back on the front-facing button quilted bench seat.  A soft rug keeps knees warm on chillier days, otherwise the sun lights up the bridal party as they drive to the ceremony.  We drop the bride at the chapel and then wait for the ceremony to conclude and for the bridal couple to be introduced, for the very first time, to their friends and relatives as Mr and Mrs!  Then off we go for a little drive and head off to the cake cutting or a meet and greet with guests.
