Sharula Estate is a Wedding venue with panoramic views, rolling lawns and tranquil surrounds making it an idyllic setting for your special event. We specialise in Weddings, Conferences and Functions. We are based just 6km from Ballito and 34km from Durban in Kwazulu Natal.

 

We offer a “blank canvas” so you can save by arranging your own outside caterer, decor and event planner. Our pricing structure offers a venue rental agreement. By organising your own food, refreshments and decor you can manage your costs and save. 

 

Sharula Estate is a working Marula farm only 10 minutes drive from central Ballito. We have over 100 Marula trees and they are between 3 and 6 years old. In addition, we have a variety of over 20 fruit trees in a separate orchard for the future flavours of our Marula wine and products. We have been waiting patiently for our first harvest which should be in the coming year.

 

Legends about Marula include Feast of First Fruits, Xikuha Marula Festival, Ngelengele: Banishing the Worms, The Sacred Tree, The Marriage Tree, Determining Babies’ Gender, Sangoma’s Dice, Fertility Fruit, The Elephant Tree, Preventing Bad Spirits, The King’s Nut, and Fire Water. It is known to the Zulu as the “marriage tree,” for it is a symbol of fertility and is used in a cleansing ritual before marriage. 

 

Our Marula Tasting Room is the perfect venue for your special event with spectacular views of Ballito and the ocean in the distance. Seats 130 – 140 people banquet style. Additional space is available should you wish to add a marquee to cater for more guest.  Maximum 200 guests on site.

 

The Marula Tasting Room is the main area where most of your event will take place. The multiple doors offer a spacious feel, inviting nature inside and showcase our breathtaking views. The spacious double volume ceiling is perfect for keeping the venue cool during Summer.
